Early on in my marriage, I had a love affair with the cleaning supply isle of every store we went into. My husband would get so angry at me for spending so much money on cleaning products. Not only did I spend a fortune, it was a hassle to carry all my different items around the house every time I cleaned. I had special cleaners for the toilet, the shower, the counter tops, the wood, the glass, the floors, and anything else that appealed to me on the cleaning product isle.
Luckily, a lady from church introduced me to the cleaning power of vinegar and I have love it ever since. Vinegar literally works on just about everything except furniture with varnish.
I have been using vinegar for the past several years and then I began tweeking it. With everyone doing their own DIY cleaning supplies, I had to try them out. I mixed it with with all-purpose cleaners to try to make it smell better. I added essential oils to it. I mixed it with baking soda. You name it, if it was on Pinterest, then I tried it. I then realized I was back to square one…spending too much money on cleaning products.
I went back to only using vinegar and one day, the most amazing cleaner evolved! I cannot remember how exactly this recipe happened, I am sure that Pinterest had something to do with it but I absolutely love it and I wanted to share!
“Best Ever All-Purpose Cleaner”
2 parts vinegar
1 part water
1 part rubbing alcohol
Several drops of Dawn Dish Detergent
When I am mixing in a spray bottle, I fill the spray bottle halfway with vinegar, ¼ way with water and the rest with rubbing alcohol, then I add my dish detergent (I always use dawn, I feel like it really works better!)
This started out as what I mopped my laminate floors with and then slowly became my main cleaner.
I even use it to make my own disinfection wipes!!! Be sure and get shop towels! They are sturdier and hold up better than regular paper towels.
There you have it…the best ever all-purpose cleaner! Go make it!
