Have you ever met someone that is hard to be around? Someone that is always in a bad mood, that tends to see the bad in every situation or never has anything nice to say about anyone. It makes me sad to encounter these types of people. I wonder where their JOY is. Don’t they know that this frame of mind is really just a bad habit? Don’t they know all it takes to be happy is a decision to be happy. I once heard the phrase “If you are unhappy with your life, then change it.” That is a pretty good concept but I would like to add to it.
If you are not happy with your life then change it, starting with you!
A lot of times when I find myself less then chipper, I stop and look at myself and the problem can almost always be identified by something I am doing or not doing!
I am not joyful 100% of the time, just ask my close friends!!! But I strive to be joyful. I want to give off an aura of joy as well. I don’t mean being fake, but sometimes negativity that we carry with us can rub off on others. There is too much good, in the world, to focus on the bad! There have been situations in my life where I wanted something really bad. Something that I knew would bring me so much joy, but instead of praying for that particular thing, I have learned to pray that no matter what happens, I won’t lose my Joy.
It is the greatest gift that the Lord has bestowed upon us and there is no greater feeling than having the Joy of the Lord in your heart. The things of this world can weight us down and I honestly don’t know how people make it without the Joy of the Lord. It is an indescribable feeling that nothing else can compare to. It is the source of self-confidence and self-worth. It is knowing, that no matter what happens in life, the Lord is there with you, taking care of you. We don’t always understand things that happen in this life yet the Lord has provided us a way to make it through. The joy of the Lord is truly my strength. When something goes wrong in my life, I am able to handle it because I know that I
still have my joy. No one can take that joy away from us but it is up to us to get it and keep it.
Joy is one of the most amazing gifts that God blesses us with yet we do not always acknowledge it. When life leaves us feeling less than wonderful we tend to turn to things found in the world to bring us joy, things such as food, TV, books, video games and so much more. Though there is nothing wrong with these things, the fulfillments they provide is only temporary and sometimes leave us feeling worse. There is only one true source of joy and that is the Lord. When we truly embrace this joy, the bible tells us that it is out strength. This is strength like no other. It is a strength that can encourage us through the roughest times and warm our hearts in the best of times. Embrace true JOY! Free Joy Printable
