Step 12 – Organize Your Cosmetics
I have a super easy one for you today…that is unless you are Nicki Minaj!!!
We are going to organize our makeup or cosmetics.
I absolutely hate getting ready! If I could afford to have someone come over every morning and put on my makeup and fix my hair…I totally would! But… something worse than putting on my makeup, is having to dig and search for it!
Having an organized cosmetic bag, makes all the difference.
So…I want you to grab a basket, or some sort of container, and round-up all of your cosmetics (except the one you have neatly tucked away in your purse from step 8).
Put everything in that basket.
For me, this includes makeup, saline, contact cases, moisturizer, nail clippers, nail polish, tweezers and a few other things.
Next…what do you keep your makeup in? Is it working for you? Do you need something else?
I have used baskets, drawers, bags, and my bedroom floor, but so far, this bag from Vera Bradley is my absolute favorite!
It has 2 separate compartments; one for your makeup brushes and then one for all of your make up that includes another little pocket.
I also ordered this awesome lap desk, but it was out of stock in the color I wanted and I never reordered but I thought this would be great to put my makeup in considering I get ready in bed!!!
And it is on sale!!!!
First Step – Find you something to put your makeup in.
Step 2 – Throw away all of the things that are old or that you don’t use.
Step 3 – Wipe down all of your makeup before putting it into its new home (I use glass cleaner) and clean your brushes and sponges.
Step 4 – Arrange your makeup neatly
Here are some ideas for your cosmetics
I put all of my makeup in my Vera Bradley case. I also have tweezers, nail clippers and q-tips in the small pocket that is included. I keep all of my face stuff (cleanser, moisturizer, toner, night cream) in a separate bag and then I have a “bedtime bag” that has my medicine, contact case, saline, bedtime lotion, and Aquaphor (a must for your lips) in it. These three bags line up neatly in the top drawer of my bedside table.
Some helpful items to include in with your cosmetics:
- nail clippers
- nail file
- bobbie pins
- hair tie
- face wipes
This is going to be another task that needs to be added to your chore list!!!
