Step 2 – Invest In A Planner
Today’s challenge is to find your perfect planner
Not only do you need a planner, you have to use it. This does require a little time every day but it is so worth it.
I actually use 2 different planners. I have an online family planner called Cozi that I absolutely love. This is where I record all of our family events such as ball games and doctor appointments. The minute I get a schedule, I add it all to my Cozi. I also keep our meal plans, shopping lists, chore lists, and to-do lists on here. Whatever you add to any of these lists can be accessed from any device. My husband can be at the store and I can add something to the grocery list and he will see it!
There is an app that you can download on every family member’s phone. It allows you to send messages back and forth and you can even set reminders. For example, my son is driving now so he takes himself to the orthodontist. I just schedule a reminder to go off on his phone the day before his appointment so that he does not forget and one on my phone so I do not forget to tell him.
My second planner is my personal planner that I use for blogging, my business, and just personal thoughts. It is kind of like my diary. I just purchased a new one and I love it! I wrote a little bit about it here. I had a Happy Planner. It was very cute but the pages came off of the binding very easy.
I intended on investing in an Erin Condren Life Planner but then I found this one by Sadie Robertson. It is so cute and it works perfectly for what I need. I use stickers, stamps, and washi tape. I color and draw in it. It makes me look forward to sitting down and planning out my week.
Here are my suggestions for planners

As soon as you get your planner, I want you to sit down and plan out the week ahead. Don’t go beyond that or you will get burn out and planning will go from being helpful to overwhelming. Now, if you have an appointment in the future you don’t want to forget about, go ahead and write it down, but don’t go through the planner and try to write down everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries. That is what Facebook is for!
