My sister, Sam…
The captain blogger out of the two of us, is currently swamped with end of year stuff. She is a high school journalism teacher and they have been super busy wrapping things up before school lets out. She was truly my inspiration for starting a blog. I began several years ago with just a small blog that followed a few of my crafts and home renovations but I never felt as if I had what it took to be a “blogger”. I always had the desire to go for it, but never the confidence. Sam had amazing material but a lack of time, and then it hit me…we would be AMAZING together. When we put our brains together, you never know what is going to pop out. One time it was a spur of the moment rendition of Boys II Men’s “End of the Road” in the key of “completely off”!!
Growing up I hated her guts and I am pretty sure the feelings were mutual.
She made me late to school… every day… and she claims that I would secretly put her in the closet and pinch the crap out of her (I do not remember this one at all). Since we have been grown, we have developed a very unique relationship. She grew from the most annoying little kid to someone who I was completely connected too. When we talk, we feel as if we are solving the world’s problems!
Now that she lives 400 miles away, we rarely get to see each other but when we do…everyone knows they better watch out! We spend most of these rare moments hugging, laughing, debating, watching movies and ganging up on our baby sister. Together we are a rarity that I know everyone is envious of!!! Or maybe they just feel sorry for us…but, either way, I love my Sam and I am so excited to be connecting with her through this blog when she is so many miles away!!!
