Saturday mornings are my absolute favorite! All week long, I yearn for Saturday mornings. Every morning, as I hear the irritating sound of my alarm and then realize that Saturday has yet to arrive, I have a moment of anguish. I drag myself out of bed and get ready to face the day (with the help of a strong cup of coffee) in hopes that Saturday will soon be here. Saturday mornings are beloved to me for three reasons.
1.It is the only day of the week that I get to sleep in and by sleep in, I mean 8:00… 9:00 at the latest (because of my second reason). I work Monday-Friday and then we have church on Sunday, so Saturday is my only free day in the entire week. Though it is often spent doing housework, Saturday still comes with a feeling of freedom.
2.Coffee with love!!! What is coffee with love? Well let me explain…My husband and I are both avid coffee drinkers. Since the beginning of our marriage we have argued over who has to make the coffee (I usually win!!!). Our arguments sounded something like “But you make it soooo much better than I do” or “But your closer” (often stated in a whiney voice). I finally began arguing that I wanted coffee with love, and the only way that was going to happen was if he made it. This seemed to be my best argument for getting my way. So for most of our marriage we have been drinking coffee with love. I usually have to get the second cup so that he gets coffee with love too! I wake up to coffee with love on the weekdays too!!!!
3.I don’t have to get ready!!! This is WONDERFUL!! No make-up, no shoes, no hair-do. That is the life on Saturday mornings! For some reason, I loathe getting ready. If I could afford to have someone do my hair and make-up every morning, I TOTALLY would!!! After having 6 or 7 cups of coffee (with love), I will get up put on some comfy clothes and I am ready for the day (at least if we don’t have to be somewhere). I even go to Wal-Mart like that!
So there you have it…my definition of Saturday morning bliss complete with coffee with love!
Happy weekend everyone…tell your husband to make the coffee!
