Step 9 – Organize Your Car
It is car organization day! Keeping my car clean is the thing that I struggle with, the most. Between being a chauffer to my two teenager, and their many friends, and running back and forth to the lake, my car stays trashed!
First things first – Clean everything out of your car, including the console, glove compartment, trunk and those pockets on the backs of your seats. Take it all out! I use laundry baskets to do this.
Throw all trash away.
Put everything away where is goes.
Make a pile of things that go back in your car.
Nope…not those CD’s. Put them on an MP3
For extra fulfillment, wash the outside and wipe down and vacuum the inside.
Now onto the fun part…
Things to keep in the console…
- Phone chargers
- Body Spray
- Sun glasses
- Note pad
- A bag of change (not loose change)
- Wet Ones
- Blank deposit slips
Things to keep in the glove compartment…
- Car info
- Emergency numbers
- Ice scrapper
- Car Maintenance Kit
Drivers side door…
Things to keep in the pockets…
- sun visors
- variety puzzle books
- a bag of colored pencils (non meltable)
- CD and DVD Binder (not individual DVD’s)
- If you have smaller kids, you might want to invest in these organizers for the back of the seat
Back Seat Console or Middle…
- Trash compartment
- Car games
- Wet wipes
Trunk or Hatchback
- Multi-compartment trunk organizer
- Jumper cables
- Quart of oil
- Flash light
- First Aid Kit
- Paper towels
- Bottled water
- Reusable grocery bags
- Empty organizer for groceries, sports equipment and other personalized needs
Now add a smell good accessory and call it done!!!
Remember…Less is more when putting items in your car.
